Important disclaimer.
Please read and understand this disclaimer before relying on any information on this website.
Every case is unique — contact us first
Every matter — from company liquidation to sequestration to — is unique, and the right course of action depends entirely on your individual circumstances. The information on this website is general guidance only. Please contact us so we can assess your specific situation and guide you properly before you act on anything you read here.
1. General information only
All content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. Reading this website does not create any professional or advisory relationship between you and The Debt Company.
2. Information may become outdated
Laws, regulations, court procedures, fees, and practices in South Africa change — sometimes without notice. Information that was correct when published may since have changed. Always confirm your position with us directly before taking any action.
3. We connect — we do not perform the legal work
The Debt Company is a referral and client-guidance service. We connect clients with qualified, independent specialists; we do not ourselves carry out the legal, insolvency, or debt-related work. The formal work is performed by independent attorneys, insolvency practitioners, and liquidators registered with the Master of the High Court, who are responsible for their own professional advice and conduct.
Once we have introduced you to a partner specialist, the professional relationship for the formal work is between you and that specialist directly. The specialist is bound by their own professional standards, ethical rules, and regulatory oversight. The Debt Company is not a party to that professional relationship and does not accept liability for the conduct, advice, or outcomes of the specialist's work.
We take reasonable care to introduce clients only to specialists whose credentials and standing we have vetted. However, we do not guarantee any particular specialist's continued availability, do not warrant the outcome of any matter they handle, and are not responsible for any professional negligence, error, or omission on their part. Your recourse for any complaint about the specialist's professional work is directly with the specialist or their regulatory body.
4. No guaranteed outcomes
Nothing on this website is a promise or guarantee of any particular outcome. Results vary according to each person's circumstances and the applicable law. Testimonials reflect individual experiences and are not a guarantee that you will achieve the same result.
